ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF DEVELOPMENT & ALUMNI RELATIONS

Camp Ramah in Wisconsin seeks a driven, organized, results-oriented, and passionate leader to serve as the camp’s Assistant Director of Development & Alumni Relations. This position will serve as a member of the Development team and a development strategist for the organization.
As Camp Ramah plans for its 78th summer and beyond, this role is a tremendous opportunity for the right candidate to forge relationships with new and existing donors and to set the strategic and creative vision for Ramah’s alumni and donor experience. Ramah Wisconsin’s Assistant Director of Development & Alumni Relations, will assume responsibility for assisting with the Annual and/or Capital Campaigns and alumni outreach. The ideal candidate must be a highly articulate communicator, a skilled relationship builder, and have demonstrated success in business development or fundraising roles.
Primary Job Responsibilities Include:
• Annual Campaign
o Plan and execute the Alumni Impact Campaign, an annual alumni fundraising initiative that includes recruitment, training, and motivation of captains and campaign chairs.
o Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer to identify potential prospects.
o Manage correspondence and CRM logging for portfolio donors.
o Steward gifts and respond to donor inquiries.
o Achieve monthly fundraising and stewardship goals through face-to-face conversations, both in-person and virtually.
o Execute a variety of direct mail, telemarketing, e-mail, mobile, and event fundraising tactics.
• Alumni Relations
o Oversee the Ramah Leadership Initiative, a leadership pipeline program with quarterly gatherings.
o Coordinate alumni reunions both in camp and around the country.
o Coordinate and champion a growing Alumni Camp experience, primarily for an under-45 alumni demographic.
• Planned & Institutional Giving
o Legacy Giving Strategy Development: Assist in expanding and implementing a comprehensive legacy-giving strategy to further develop the well-established Ramah Wisconsin Legacy Society.
o Facilitate efforts to increase funding and all other forms (in-kind) of institutional support from corporations, public and private foundations, and federal and state governmental agencies.
Ideal candidates will possess the following credentials and skills:
• 5+ years of experience in business development, fundraising, or related field.
• Competency in prospect identification, cultivation, and stewardship plans.
• A strong desire to cultivate sales skills.
• A strong passion for and commitment to strengthening Jewish identity and peoplehood.
• High energy level and highly goal-oriented.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Outstanding organizational skills.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently and with a team.
• Approach opportunities and challenges with confidence and determination.
• Resilient and the ability to cope with rejection.
• Ability to build trusting and lasting relationships with donors, camper parents, alumni, and other partners.
Job requirements:
• Some year-round travel as well as some work on nights and weekends.
• Approximately 3-4 multi-day summer visits to Ramah’s campus in Conover, WI.
• Regularly scheduled time in year-round office in downtown Chicago, IL or Ramah Day Camp in Wheeling, IL.

The Salary Range is $85,000-$110,000. It includes a generous benefits package (including tuition benefits).
