JEWISH RELIEF AGENCY (JRA) - EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
The Overview
The Jewish Relief Agency (JRA) is no ordinary nonprofit. Since our founding in 2000, our dedicated team of highly committed and experienced professionals and lay leaders has developed a culture of community engagement and volunteerism that has become one of the most dynamic programs in the Philadelphia region and, in fact, the country.
For nearly 25 years, JRA has been bringing together individuals of all means, ages, and backgrounds to address our community’s physical, social, and spiritual needs, satisfying our unique desire to take care of each other and do good in the world. Built on the foundation of our monthly food distribution, our programs relieve the pangs of hunger, bring meaning to our recipients and volunteers, and build a caring and connected community.
We are driven by the Jewish values of Chesed, Tzedakkah, and G’milut Chasadim. Since our grassroots founding, these core values have been our guiding light, in that we
● Do whatever it takes to get the job done
● Are all both givers and receivers
● Find new ways to solve problems
● Create a connected and united community
● Treat everyone with compassion, dignity, and respect
To fulfill our mission, JRA’s volunteer base of over 10,000 volunteers pack and deliver food and critical supplies to 3,400 households each month throughout Greater Philadelphia. To learn more about JRA, please visit www.jewishrelief.org.
