Jeff’s Place is seeking a part-time, mission-driven Program Director to lead and grow its community and programming initiatives. This role presents a unique opportunity to collaborate with a passionate team and stakeholders in the recovery space, shaping programs that align with Jeff’s Place’s mission and strategic goals, and building, growing and nurturing a like-minded community. Current offerings include recovery meetings, quarterly community events, and more.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Relationship Building and Community Growth
    Build and grow Jeff’s Place community through strategic outreach, creative marketing ideas, and heavy networking.
    Develop and implement an annual work plan for community programming, events, and initiatives
    Create and monitor KPIs and goals quarterly to measures success.
    Evaluating and modifying programs for continuous improvement
    Assist in the development and management of program budgets.

  2. Knowledge Sharing and Research

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, donors, and peer networks.
  • Conduct research and gather data to inform program development and decision-making.
  • Supporting the board administratively, i.e. agenda development, scheduling and calendar invites, meeting notes, etc.)
  1. Events Management
  • Conceptualize and design event themes, decor, and supply needs.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed event itineraries and schedules.
  • Coordinate with vendors and professionals to hire event staff (e.g., caterers, photographers, bartenders, entertainers).
  • Manage event budgets, perform cost analysis, and negotiate favorable terms with vendors.
  • Collaborate with Chabad Operations staff to coordinate, set up, execute, and clean up events, ensuring all vendor payments are completed.
  1. Other
  • Research funding opportunities and assist in writing grants to support programming and initiatives.
  • Assist with special projects, including data collection, entry, and reporting.
  • Provide additional support for program priorities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of community building and engagement in non-profit, philanthropy, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Outstanding communication skills and exceptional relationship-building with a wide variety of stakeholders for collaboration. Comfortable with public speaking and facilitation.
  • Familiarity with addiction and recovery.
  • Knowledge of event planning and willingness to organize logistics and manage event budgets. A high attention to detail is required from the high level of a project to its smallest details.
  • Flexible and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills in written and oral forms and ability to articulate complex ideas effectively to diverse audiences.
