Temple Beth Sholom (TBS) is a welcoming and inclusive sacred community that connects its members to one another, Judaism, and Israel through interactive spiritual, educational, and social experiences. TBS is a Conservative synagogue consisting of more than 800 families. In addition to its clergy and staff, TBS has many groups and committees that immerse congregants of all ages in Jewish life and learning.

We are seeking a part-time Front Desk Administrative Assistant for direct hire.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Be the first welcoming voice/face to members, potential new members, and visitors.
• Provide callers with information, answer questions, and transfer calls accordingly.
• Provide backup administrative support.
• Assist staff, committees and cohort groups with various projects as needed.
• Stay current of TBS events and schedules.
• Organize & send monthly birthday cards for TBS members.
• Assist with online signups for events.
• Assist with mailings/labels and copying for programs and events.
• Keep Office common area/supply closets neat and organized and advise Office Manager of status.
• Help coordinate outgoing mail and distribute incoming mail.
• Assist with weekly duties pertaining to B’nai Mitzvah and Shabbat.
• Assist with Temple correspondence as necessary.
• Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Qualifications, and Requirements:
• Self-starter who can multi-task, who can work in a team, and who is computer proficient.
• Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook), Microsoft Teams and Google Workspace required.
• Knowledge of ShulCloud and synagogue operations is a plus.
• Must be able to interact well with staff, clergy, congregants, and potential members.
• Demonstrated experience in successfully working with individuals and with groups.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of Judaism, Jewish culture, customs, holidays, and familiarity with the needs of a Conservative Jewish congregation a plus.
Reporting to: Office Manager
Hours: 15-20 hours/wk.
