Part-time Synagogue Administrator

Hours: 20-25 hours per week
Location: North San Fernando Valley
Overview:
Temple Ramat Zion seeks a dedicated and organized individual to serve as a part-time administrator. This role will be responsible for overseeing various office and facility functions, interacting with synagogue leadership and professionals, and providing essential administrative support.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Office and Facility Management:
o Oversee day-to-day office operations and ensure a clean and well-maintained facility.
o Manage office supplies and equipment.
o Handle purchasing and vendor relations.
o Schedule and coordinate facility usage.
• Membership Management:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for membership inquiries and confidential matters.
o Process membership applications and renewals.
o Maintain accurate membership records.
• Administrative Support:
o Create and distribute weekly bulletins and work orders.
o Assist with the preparation of various documents and reports.
o Coordinate volunteer activities and schedules.
o Schedule security needs for the synagogue.
o Maintain sensitive files.
• Communication and Collaboration:
o Interact effectively with synagogue leadership, staff, and members.
o Work closely with the bookkeeper on financial matters.
o Maintain strong relationships with outside vendors.
Qualifications:
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with ShulCloud or similar synagogue management software is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Knowledge of Conservative Jewish practice is ideal but not required.
