Position Overview:
The Associate Director is an individual with strong computer skills, a customer service approach, stellar telephone manner, and interpersonal skills who will work internally with Clergy and Temple staff and externally with constituents including congregants, Board members, donors, and volunteers.
The Associate Director will work under the supervision and direction of the Director of Institutional Advancement to increase awareness of the Temple’s work, goals and financial needs, encourage and support relationships among the congregants, the Clergy and the Advancement team, and support the Advancement team in fundraising activities with specific duties concerning grant writing, donor relations, stewardship activities, and event planning.

Responsibilities:
● Research: conduct prospect research; prepare personal solicitation materials
● Grant writing for specific purposes, with direction and assistance
● Facilitate large donor/prospect mailings
● Manage sending donor recognition gifts
● Steward/ cultivate donors in the community
● Responsible for raising, maintaining and moving donors for gifts under $5,000K per year
● Assist when/where necessary with other campaigns
● Help raise funds and create marketing materials including written materials and videos for the Temple’s annual campaign
● Assist with the planning and execution and attend fundraising and stewardship events
● Assist in implementing a Donor Recognition program including drafting correspondence on behalf of Clergy and Senior Staff to thank donors for pledge payments and donations
● Keeping detailed records of donor information and create and deliver reports as needed
● Work with the Temple staff generally and the development staff in other departments specifically to help promote a cohesive and coordinate approach to fundraising across the Temple
● Other duties as assigned by the Director of Institutional Advancement.
