We are seeking a highly organized, computer-proficient individual with excellent communication skills and good judgment to join our team as an Ritual Coordinator. If you are a motivated, resourceful, and collaborative team player, we invite you to apply.
Responsibilities:
• Coordinates and maintains all administrative work in support of Cantor, Rav Hazzan, and Ritual Director, including schedule and calendar management, external communication, travel logistics and planning.
• Provide Administrative support as needed for programming; coordination of contracts for musicians and other guests; order ritual-related items; etc.
• Works with the Cantor to coordinate and execute the B’nai Mitzvah Program:
o Communicate directly with B’nai Mitzvah families as needed
o Coordinate/maintain the B’nai Mitzvah calendar including scheduling all clergy appointments with B’nai Mitzvah families
o Create/Maintain all B’nai Mitzvah documents for services – handbook, gift bags, honors sheets, programs, student materials, certificates, etc.
o Assist in yearly scheduling of B’nai Mitzvah dates including preparation and communication.
• Interact with members of the congregation at sensitive points in their lives, including birth, marriage, divorce, and death/mourning, providing critical information to the rabbis to support the lifecycle event and their relationships with members.
• Maintain lifecycles database and communicate lifecycle events including but not limited to Yahrzeits, and memorial plaques
• Maintain process documentation for lifecycle events, revising and updating these processes as needed.
• Coordinate and prepare weekly Shabbat template including, gifts for new babies, working with and reaching out to members on honors and service participation (Aliyot) and outreach, Rootone certificates, summer minyan coordination, coordinate special shabbats with lay leaders and committees.
• Coordinate and prepare ritual calendars, holiday templates/calendars, and active participant in High Holiday team planning.
Experience and Qualifications:
• 3+ years equivalent work experience preferred
• Knowledge of the Jewish rituals strongly preferred
• Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite
• Knowledge of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software or similar software preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Organized, detailed oriented, ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
• Must be collaborative, have a professional demeanor, a positive and proactive attitude, good judgment and be reliable
• Ability to demonstrate discretion handling confidential and sensitive issues
• Knowledge of Hebrew a plus
