CBI’s Barry Ira Graff School for Living Judaism (SLJ) seeks an enthusiastic, creative, friendly and positive Jewish professional to join our Religious School administrative team as our Program Coordinator. This individual will serve as a key member of the SLJ full-time staff.
Our Religious School has over 400 students currently enrolled (and growing) in Pre-K through 12th grade.This position will be supervised by the Director of the School for Living Judaism. We are looking for a candidate who is looking to grow in their role as the school continues to grow and thrive.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Jewish Education
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in school administration, camp administration, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Knowledge and understanding of synagogue life, Jewish practice and holidays
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to take initiative
• Adept in educational technology a plus
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suites (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, etc.)
• Proficiency in One Drive
• Comfort and familiarity (willingness to learn) with CRM services (ex: Blackbaud and Raiser’s Edge)
• Familiarity with Hebrew
• Work on the High Holidays and other major Jewish holidays is a requirement
• A "can do” attitude
• Team Player
General Hours
Summer Hours are Monday- Friday, 8:30-4:30
School Year Hours are Sunday- Thursday (times vary)
With the rest of the SLJ administrative team, work on Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, Simchat Torah (also Consecration), Grade Level Shabbat programs and other holidays
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• In coordination with the Director of SLJ- plan and run family programs with a strong Judaic content
• Collaborate on HHD materials and help to lead HHD Youth programming
• Collaborate with Director and Assistant Director on Judaic materials for all programs and enrichment classes
• Oversee Religious School Enrichment classes and activities
• Collaborate with Assistant Director and Youth Engagement Professional on planning of all trips. Program Coordinator will oversee all planning and logistics for trips
• During Religious School classes be a strong presence in the school including during carpool
• Manage all facilities requests for SLJ
• In coordination with Director of SLJ- plan and run special programs and assemblies
• Collaborate with team to create professional development for faculty
• Maintain schedules and class lists
• Prepare Materials for prospective families
• Collaborate on all SLJ communications
• Maintain and update SLJ Calendar
• Maintain and update SLJ bulletin boards as relates to programming
• Prepare SLJ flyers and program invitations for all SLJ programming
