Director of Programming - Temple Emunah
Temple Emunah, a Masorti/Conservative synagogue in Lexington, Massachusetts, seeks a full-time or part-time Director of Programming to plan and run programs for various ages and a diversified community.
Overview of the position:
Hours: 30-40 hours a week, Monday to Friday, with additional flexibility to accommodate occasional evening and weekend events or meetings and occasional urgent work that may arise during off-hours. The workday will end before Shabbat begins on Fridays and before sunset on holidays. This position requires participation or leadership in a few events on evenings, Shabbatot, and holidays. The Director of Programming should attend most events, welcome members, and create a warm and open environment for new and prospective members and guests. Reporting to the Executive Director and working closely with the Rabbis and education team. This position is flexible with evening and morning hours and some remote from home if needed.

Areas of Responsibility Include:
Develop and implement innovative programs that engage congregants religiously, culturally, socially, and intellectually in the spirit of egalitarian Masorti/Conservative Judaism.
Develop an annual program calendar with staff and lay leaders and an annual programming budget.
Manage the shul calendar by coordinating dates and maintaining the office and website calendars.
Assist committees in planning, budgeting, and arranging the event setups.
Create and circulate publicity materials for events, and work with the Director of Media to ensure proper marketing, documentation, and social media.
Document event setups and programs for future guidance.
Assist and manage catering orders.
Collect RSVPs for events and bill attendees by creating registration forms on ShulCloud or Google forms.
Schedule custodians and security personnel as needed.
Work closely with the Young Families Program coordinator and the Director of Congregational Learning to create programs for families.
Plan and take an active role in the following holiday celebrations for the community in these events and others TBD: High Holy Days, Sukkot, Simhat Torah, Hanukkah, December 24th, Purim, Passover, Shavuot, Lag Ba’omer, Friday night BBQ, Shabbat Experiences, and work with other synagogues and community agencies on joint events.
Support The Temple Emunah Membership Committee with their outreach to potential and new members and organize New Baby Shabbat.
Coordinate events with the local Israeli Community.
Apply for grants to increase programs.
Program support will include identifying other resources needed and obtaining program supplies.
Assist in the office when not working on specific programming.
Qualifications
College degree preferred. Experience with program planning in a non-profit or educational setting, ideally through a Jewish lens.
Preferred Skills/Requirements / Attributes: Comfortable working with people of all ages. Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and leadership skills to interact with diverse lay and professional leadership, members, and guests. Strong problem-solving and writing skills. Ability to work independently and in teams and groups. Ability to represent Temple Emunah in a highly professional manner. Receptive to and accepting of guidance from supervisors and volunteers. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. Willing to learn other computer applications/software. Willingness and flexibility to work evenings and during weekends events as needed. Know how (or learn how) to retrieve and use information from the Synagogue membership database software (ShulCloud). Learn and be competent in using our technologies, such as Constant Contact, ShulCloud, YouTube, Wandershar, Zoom, and Streamspot.
