Looking for a Middle School Science Teacher/Lower School Science Specialist

Looking for a dynamic educator to teach 6th grade science and collaborate with lower school general studies teachers to enrich their science curriculum.

Ideal Candidate:
Familiarity with using Next Generation Science Standards
Familiarity with phenomena learning
Familiarity with planning curriculum using cross cutting concepts
Experience and understanding of using interactive science notebooks
Understands academic, social and behavioral characteristics for middle school students
Creates a positive structured learning environment
Meets the needs of a range of students by planning and providing for differentiated instruction
Has strong instructional skills and classroom management
Incorporates social emotional learning into student experiences
Commits to school community through work with colleagues and participation in school events
Ability and interest in teaching 6th grade math a plus
Responsibilities Include
Planning for and teaching grades 6-8 science classes
Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary middle school team
Leading an advisory group with curated activities throughout the school year
Determining students' academic and social emotional learning goals and ensuring that they're met
Designing experiential, project-based learning that is relevant and real-world
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s preferred
• Certification in Middle School Science
• Minimum 3 years' prior teaching experience
