Programming and Engagement Coordinator
Location: Miami, FL 33180
Temple Sinai of North Dade, a Reform synagogue in Miami, is seeking an outstanding candidate to serve as our Programming/Engagement Coordinator.
This position will coordinate a variety of programming events and report to the Director of Administration and work with clergy, staff, volunteers, committees, the marketing coordinator to facilitate lay-led programming and ideas.
Temple Liaison
Develop engaging and meaningful programs for all age groups.
Work with auxiliary committees i.e Sisterhood, Empty Nesters, Parent Association, Jewish Living Committee, etc. to coordinate and plan events.
Work with the Fundraising Chair to coordinate and plan events.
Community Liaison
Establish relationships with community agencies to partner with.
Volunteers
Develop new & innovative ways for partners to “engage” with Temple Sinai.
Event Coordination/Event Coordinator
Update Bris / Baby Naming, Bar/Bat Mitzvah Receptions, Parties and
Wedding Brochures as needed, review events contracts, create timeline of
events and activities for Facilities Department and Security, coordinate
Vendor deliveries and update their certificate of liability information as needed.
Coordinate room setup and serve as a liaison with the Facility Maintenance Department.
Market the Social Hall and Pavilion for rental to increase rental revenues.
Plan and manage the logistics of an event, including venue, guests, and
programs, catering, and marketing.
Assist with the set-up, running; break down of events and, identifying and
resolving problems with vendors or clients.
Manage Programming Calendar
Coordinate all event dates with Director of Administration to ensure events
are calendared and facility use is planned
Input all events and activities along with the set-up requirements
as requested by management and staff.
Serve as a liaison with the facility maintenance department to
ensure that the required set-ups are carried out as requested.
Job Requirements, Skills and Qualifications:
Candidate will have:
Strong organizational & interpersonal skills, with a welcoming and positive attitude and a professional presentation. Customer service focus is critical.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
General computer proficiency: comfort level with being trained to use synagogue database software
Proficiency or mastery in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) Strong time management skills to enable working on multiple deadlines; ability to initiate and complete projects in a timely manner
Previous event planning experience desirable
Strong attention to detail
Ability to function effectively in a fluid environment and be a team player
Flexibility and a healthy sense of humor
A./B.A. degree and/or 3 years’ experience in an office setting
Familiarity with Jewish customs and practice a plus
