This new entity is now poised to provide catalytic leadership for the Jewish, Outdoor, Food, Farming and Environmental Education (JOFEE) world and the Jewish environmental movement as a whole.
Hazon’s new Chief Climate & Sustainability Officer (CCSO) will report to Jakir Manela, Hazon’s Chief Executive Officer. We are looking for someone who is deeply mission-aligned and has the demonstrated capacity to further develop and strengthen all of Hazon’s climate and sustainability work.

-Overseeing the Hazon Seal of Sustainability, a national program engaging Jewish organizations taking substantive action toward sustainability and climate goals. Seal sites commit to a multi-year process of improving the environmental performance of their facilities and operations, and integrating sustainability into Jewish programming. Over 200 organizations have participated in the Hazon Seal process over the past 5 years.

-Partner with our Chief Development Officer and Chief Finance and Administration Officer in order to support our fundraising efforts and develop/manage budgets for all our climate and sustainability initiatives.
-Overseeing Interfaith Liaisons. The CCSO will develop and implement Hazon’s strategy for participation in interfaith, international, and other multifaceted coalitions.
-Serving as part of Hazon’s Senior Leadership Team. The CCSO will collaborate with the CEO, Executive Team, and board members in order to craft strategic plans, budgets, and SMART goals for annual and long-term program development.
