Jewish Council of North Central Florida Executive Director

The Jewish Council of North Central Florida (JCNCF) is seeking an Executive Director with strong fundraising, community leadership and staff management skills. As a leader driven by innovation and creativity, the ideal candidate will oversee the creation of programs and initiatives to expand our Jewish community. The Executive Director will work collaboratively across the community with organizational donors, leadership, staff, volunteers, as well as faith leaders and federal, state, county, and local government officials.
In partnership with the volunteer Board of Directors, and reporting to the Board, the Executive Director will operationalize a vision for the Jewish community that will excite and engage far and wide. Imbued with an entrepreneurial spirit, the Executive Director will attract additional talented, creative, and innovative partners to the organization’s mission, while successfully identifying and stewarding donors, and increasing the numbers and diversity of donors and funding sources in our community. Special attention will be given to programming innovation in the COVID and Post-COVID world.
JCNCF is based in Gainesville, the largest city in North Central Florida, with a population of 140,000 residents and a noted cultural scene. Nestled in an “urban forest” and flanked by natural springs and state parks, Gainesville is home to the University of Florida (UF), one of the nation’s leading public universities, which attracts 5,000 Jewish students and features a nationally recognized Jewish Studies program. UF and its affiliated medical center are the city’s leading employers. Gainesville’s Jewish community, which dates to the 19th Century, is vibrant and active. In addition to JCNCF, other Jewish communal entities include a Conservative congregation and a Reform congregation, UF Hillel, a Lubavitch-Chabad Center, UF’s Center for Jewish Studies and Judaica Library,
Qualifications:
• A bachelor’s degree. An advanced degree/certification in Business, Public Administration, Jewish Communal Services, Non-Profit Management, or other appropriate fields is preferred.
• Knowledge, understanding, and commitment to the Jewish Federation movement and Jewish Life and its domestic and global partner organizations
• 3+ years of experience in a nonprofit and/or an organization/agency serving the Jewish community
• 2+ years of supervisory and budgetary management is preferred
Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time position, with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities. The annual salary range is $60,000- $75,000 commensurate with experience and potential, plus a benefits package.
