Youth and Family Education Kadimah (Outdoor Education) Coordinator

Position Description: The Kadimah Coordinator will work 40% FTE in our Youth and Family Education department to run our Sunday outdoor education pathway. The Kadimah Coordinator will report to the YFE Director of Operations. This position can be increased to include additional responsibilities in the Youth and Family Education (YFE) department, based on your skills and experience.
Kadimah Coordinator (40%)
• Supervise and manage Kadimah pathway (weekly on Sunday mornings approximately 9 am-1:00 pm)
o Hold a weekly staff meeting for Kadimah teachers (on Sunday after the program)
o Provide feedback and professional development to Kadimah staff, including on Hebrew Through Movement (HTM)
o Assist with recruiting, hiring, and onboarding Kadimah teaching staff
• Write curriculum framework for the Kadimah pathway
o Differentiate learning outcomes and activities for each section
o Develop and implement Hebrew Through Movement program within Kadimah pathway (and possibly beyond)
o Collaborate with Tzedek Council to integrate regular Tikkun Olam projects into Kadimah curriculum
• Manage administrative tasks for Kadimah
o Manage and track Kadimah expenses (to remain within allocated budget)
o Coordinate and distribute supplies
o Organize the logistics of social justice projects with Tzedek Council and partner with Teen Programs Manager and external organizations to support broader social justice efforts in the community
o Work with YFE team to find substitute teachers as needed
• Serve as the primary point of contact for families enrolled in Kadimah
o Write and distribute a regular parent newsletter
o Organize a parent orientation and ongoing parent education
o Organize family small groups and/or regular social events
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and experience with Jewish outdoor education or informal education
