DIRECTOR OF JEWISH EXPERIENCE

The Buffalo Jewish Federation is looking to hire a full-time passionate Director of Jewish Experience to design and facilitate Jewish living and learning experiences.

WHAT YOU'LL DO …
In this position you will lead several efforts for the Center for Jewish Engagement and Learning (CJEL) at the Buffalo Jewish Federation, including, but not limited to, PJ Library and Adult Engagement & Learning. You’ll interact with a wide variety of adults at all stages of life and families with young children to create a culture of belonging where all Jews, their friends and life partners of other faiths, and those exploring Judaism feel welcome to participate in Jewish living and learning experiences that help them thrive. Key responsibilities will include engagement and relationship building, content and resource development, designing and facilitating Jewish learning experiences and larger gatherings for festivals and holidays, strategic future planning, programmatic administration, data collection, volunteer stewardship, and convening collaborative partners.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING …
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (preferred) in Jewish Professional Leadership, Jewish Education, Business Administration, or a similar field; or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in Jewish professional leadership or education.
• Expertise in Jewish education and engagement, and intimate knowledge of Jewish culture and texts required.
• A Jewish skill set that includes leading holiday/festival worship experiences.
• Strong facilitation skills, ability to listen deeply, openness to difference.
• Demonstrated aptitude to engage with adults, parents of young children, and children ages 8 and under.
• Extremely strong organizational, administrative and time management skills and the ability to work remotely while still meeting deadlines.
• Positivity, creativity, adaptability and self-discipline. A desire to prioritize ongoing learning.
• The ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
• Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with both colleagues and volunteer partners.
• Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation-based communication skills.
• The ability to produce quality written materials for web, social media, and Jewish and secular print publications.

This position provides a salary between $48,000 - $55,000 commensurate with experience. This is a remote opportunity but requires a local presence.
