Early Childhood Director

South Peninsula Hebrew Day School seeks an Early Childhood Director with strong supervisory, leadership, and communication skills along with a warm and nurturing disposition beginning in Summer 2021. The Early Childhood Program serves 60-90 students and has excellent indoor and outdoor facilities. The school’s educational philosophy is open-ended and play-based with an emphasis on Jewish values.
Personal qualities desired include a palpable love of preschool children, a desire to both guide and meet the expectations of parents, managing and inspiring a dedicated staff and the desire to improve an already excellent program. The school serves families from a wide range of Jewish observance and there is a Hebrew speaking teacher in each room. Knowledge of Hebrew is a plus. Professional requirements include a current California Site Supervisor License, and previous early childhood program leadership experience.
The Early Childhood Director hires and supervises her staff, designs the curriculum, makes admissions decisions and maintains all health and educational standards and records required by the State of California. (S)he works collegially with the K-8 Principal, Director of Operations, Director of Finance, Director of Admissions and reports to the Head of School.
The highly competitive compensation package includes a salary of $100-120K (depending on experience), health, dental and vision insurance, 403b retirement plan, and a personal professional development budget of $3,000. There are 32 days off for American and Jewish and winter and spring breaks, plus 2 weeks off in the summer.
