Upper School Hebrew Teacher

We are Fuchs Mizrachi School in Beachwood, Ohio. We educate students in pre-nursery through 12th grade, in a community driven by a passion for Torah values, Religious Zionist ideals and the pursuit of excellence in General and Judaic learning and leadership. We are seeking a full-time Hebrew language teacher for the Upper School (Grades 6 -12) but will consider applications from candidates interested in a part-time position.
Reporting to the Junior High and High School principals the Hebrew language teacher will work closely with other members of the Hebrew department and administration to implement an outstanding Hebrew Language curriculum for all students.
We seek candidates with proven excellence in teaching Hebrew in a Junior High and High School setting and experience with differentiated foreign language instruction. Fluency in Hebrew is required as well as an understanding of developmentally appropriate teaching and learning for both Junior High and High School students. He or she will use their understanding of foreign language education and personalization to design student-centered classrooms where students are empowered to develop their language skills through meaningful, authentic learning experiences.
Job responsibilities include:
Teaching a full-time course load of Hebrew classes in the Upper School (22 - 25 periods a week)
Managing a welcoming, warm, and professional classroom that is conducive to learning and the development of the whole child
Recognizing the needs of individual students and the entire group and offers support and flexibility as needed
Working as part of a cooperative and diverse team of educators and administrators to carry out the goals of the School
Teaching curriculum based on the school’s scope and sequence
Planning, documenting, and carrying out daily lessons
Creating effective assessments that track and support student progress
Integrating Hebrew, Religious Zionism, and Israeli culture, into other areas of the School through interdepartmental collaboration
Position Requirements Include:
Fluency in Hebrew
Undergraduate degree in Education, Hebrew, or related
Hebrew teaching experience is a must
