Primary areas of leadership for the Head of School:
the school and personify the institution. Serve as an ambassador for the school to the BC Ministry of Education, Jewish Federation of Greater Vancouver, and all community agencies.
- Student Programs and Services: Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of student programs and services and ensure that they are appropriate to the school’s mission and the needs of those enrolled. In addition,
work to set standards of participation and achievement in each category: academics, co-curriculars, and character development. - Sta Leadership: De ne the school’s teaching and non- teaching needs, hire appropriate sta , set standards for growth and performance, and foster harmony among all sta members.
- Working Environment: Cultivate a positive environment (physical and emotional) which includes ensuring campus safety, administering rules and procedures for students, and promoting harmonious relationships among the administration, faculty, sta , and students.
- Enrollment and Recruitment: Recommend enrollment objectives with respect to student numbers, character, and quality. Oversee the implementation of marketing and scholarship programs.
- Program and Service Support: Lead e orts to ensure academic programs are fully supported in areas such as facilities, equipment, materials, etc. Ensure comprehensive school records are maintained as required by the Board and Provincial law.
- Operational Management: Lead the school management team to deliver smooth day-to-day operations.
- Facilities Management: Supervise the operation and maintenance of all school facilities, approve expenditures, and recommend changes.
- Board Relations: Serve as the chief liaison between the school and the Board. Keep the Board informed of pertinent matters at the school and educate faculty/ sta about the Board’s activities.
- Planning and Analysis: Assist the Board with strategic and long-range planning and develop tactical plans with the management team. Stay abreast of trends in education and school management.
- Finance: Work with the Board’s Finance Committee on nancial plans and the annual budget. Work with the Business Manager to maintain the smooth nancial operation of the school including annual review and setting of tuition rates and overseeing salary increases.
- Fundraising: Advise the Board on fundraising needs and plans; cultivate relationships with donors and solicit for major gi s. Maintain a good working relationship with the Development O ce.
- ConstituentRelations:Encourageandmaintainmeaningful relationships with parents, alumni, past parents, special interest groups, and the community.

We are seeking a candidate who brings the following:
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills
• Teaching and administrative experience
• An advanced degree in Education and/ or Educational Leadership
• A BC Teaching credential or eligible to attain this
• Completion of an advanced course of study in Judaic Studies
at a recognized post-secondary Orthodox institution
The successful candidate will transition into this role with the assistance and support of our outgoing Head of School.
